Hello The Country Chic Cottage readers! I am Ashley, the face and voice behind Simply Designing and I am so excited to be here today to participate in "What Would You Do With It" Wednesday!!!
I am fairly new to blogland but am loving every minute of it! I am an interior designer and a floral designer. I own my own business. I also love to dabble in crafts, baby / child items, very occasional sewing, lots of baking, cake decorating and a variety of other things.
I love finding ways to make my life more SIMPLE!
I enjoy keeping busy and I have a list a mile long of "projects" I want to do. And I love posting about my projects on my blog! I also LOVE new visitors, comments and new followers! (hint hint! :-)
In addition, I am a wife to a wonderful husband for 9 years, and a mom of a 3.5 year old spunky little girl and a sweet cuddly 3 month old little boy! So much fun!
Ok. Now. On to the GOOD stuff!
What would you do with this???
Back at Easter-time, I found these little trees at the Dollar Store near me. At the time, I bought one to make an Easter Tree out of it. It turned out cute don't you think?
Well, I loved it so much, I went back to the store to buy another one. My original thinking was that I wanted to buy one more to make a Halloween-inspired tree come October. But, when I arrived at the dollar store, 3 trees jumped into my cart and don't ask me why, but I bought all 3 of them...they only cost a dollar...so why not, right?!?!
Well, now I have 3 trees, and only a plan for one of them!
Help!!! I can't let a good tree go to waste! So, what would you do with this tree?
I can't wait to hear all of your fabulous ideas!!! Thank you so much for taking the time to tell me what you would do with it!
And while you are stewing on this, be sure to stop by my blog Simply Designing HERE to poke around and check out some of my posts and tutorials.
Happy Designing!

Well, this idea comes from having four kids and trying (desperately) over the years to teach them about responsibility and chores. At 3-1/2 y/o your daughter is at the perfect age where she really wants to help out and is happy about making mommy and daddy happy (just wait until they are teenagers). Any way, I would use several different colors of green patterned and cardstock papers and punch out different leaf shapes (or you could freehand them or use a Cricut, if you wish). Then I would put a hole at the top or stem of the leaf and thread thru a ribbon or twine (twine would be so cool) so they will hang off the tree. On each leaf I would put a small chore (or you could make it a reward tree for when they have been really good and you want to reward that behavior). Some examples would be help set the table, help p/u toys, make your bed, put clothes in laundry, help load dishwasher, etc. The chores would be what you felt she could do easily and enjoyably. Like I said, they love to help do anything at this age. Then, as she gets older the chores would change with her; or, the rewards for a reward tree would change accordingly. I hope you like this idea, thanks for letting me help you.
Thanks, Missy
Spray paint them white, cover with glitter and then hang little birds. Or cut photographs of birds and clue to cardboard and hang. Did that make sense?
I'm looking forward to following along and the obvious inspiration I'm going to find here.
How have I missed finding your bloggie????

I say one of them needs to be a "summer" tree. Paint all white -- maybe the pot black? And add seashells and starfish on jute!! Ca-ute!! You could even put some sand on top of the pot!! Oh my -- I am talking myself into trying this....
I also had a comment emailed to me about doing an Americana tree for the 4th of July! I think that is an awesome idea!! Thanks Gari!
Make it a family tree. Glue small black and white photographs to cardstock scrapbook paper and hang from the tree like ornaments.
Two of them - flanked on a mantel, dresser, tv stand whatever - and create "seasonal" things to dress them with. Make those seasonal things with your kids!
I would totally spray paint it all one color to match whatever room you're putting it in and hang photographs on it.
