I have been a busy bee cleaning out my closet (hint -- reveal tomorrow!!). I have given tons to good will and hauled tons to the trash. There was a pillow I had acquired from somewhere and it had seen better days. I knew it was vintage but never thought anything about it. I ripped off the outer cover to throw it away. And under that cover...was...awesomeness...
Yes that was IN a gold satin disaster!! SCORE!!
So I have me a new found pillow...SURPRISE!!
The original pillow I got years back and an auction. I bought a lot of blankets and pillows for next to nothing. So I am going to count this one as FREE!!
Also, this week someone on twitter (Junker Newbie -- great blog visit it now!!) was talking about old rulers. And I realized I had not shown off my latest find...
Yep a Chevrolet ruler! Old rulers make great decor! I have this one on top of the cabinet in my bathroom. Looove it!

That's funny about the pillow. Chances are that someone covered the ticking thinking it was ugly or not in style. Silly folks!

wow what a score this pillow was, I love it!!!
I had something similar happen with an old picture frame; when I took it apart it had an old (1920's) picture of my grandmother placed in cardboard and used as backing!
I guess old pillows always came that way because I still have my pillow from when I was 5 ~ now 58 as of birthday yesterday ~ and it looks just like yours
A free pillow always makes for a good day :-) And I of course love the ruler!
LOVE that pillow find. Might have to start ripping my goodwill stash of pillows apart (smile). Just found your blog and will have to be back to peak around some. Fun times!
