I had an idea a few weeks back. Everyday around here I am surrounded by beauty and fun family moments. I never think to capture them on film. I resolved to carry my camera more. Because practice makes perfect when it comes to photography, I think this will also help me to improve. Capturing everyday moments was hard at first.... "mom do we HAVE to get another picture". But it is becoming more and more a part of our lives. I want to share more of these everyday moments here on my blog. No project, no rhyme or reason....just the everyday moments and beauty that is our life. When TCBY Frozen Yogurt let me know June 29th was National Camera Day, I thought what a great way to kick off this series. So I grabbed my camera, some TCBY Frozen Yogurt, and went after my Most Creative Photo.
Never seen TCBY Frozen Yogurt? It is available at Walmart in tons of different flavors. I have tried several now and have not found one I didn't like. So taste test away, you won't be disappointed. Do you want to see more pictures and details of my shopping trip? Head on over to my Google Plus album for all the details.
Nothing is better on a 100 plus degree day (WOWZA!) then frozen yogurt with all the toppings. I chose a variety so the kids could really go to town. Happy kids make great pictures after all.
Hubby and I skipped the cone and went right for a pretty bowl for sundaes. A happy mom behind the camera takes a better picture...or that is what I told myself...
The kids dove right in and I started capturing this everyday moment. I took tons of pictures and only a few made the cut. But you know what, that is okay. That is part of it. Learning my camera, learning my mistakes, and bringing home a better photo next time.
I love the results of capturing our everyday lives. These are moments that I want to remember. Yes we will remember Disney World with the 100 plus pictures I took. However remembering a great cone on a hot day is worth remembering too. Don't you think?
So are you ready for my Most Creative Photo? The photo below of my youngest daughter captures her personality to a tee. It is one of my favorite shots of all time. All because I broke out my camera on an everyday Wednesday night.
Break out your camera and make an effort to capture your everyday moments. You might be surprised at the results!
