Peanut butter blossom cookies are our hands down favorite Christmas cookie recipe. So when Mary Beth from Cupcakes and Crinoline made this her recipe for this month I was excited. Everyone needs this recipe in their arsenal this holiday season!
Every year at Christmastime there’s one cookie that I make without fail. Peanut butter blossoms. My kids look forward to them and so do I! They are so easy to make and once you do you’ll add them to you yearly bake list as well. You probably already have most of the ingredients on hand so let’s get started.
Peanut Butter Blossom Cookies
1/2 cup granulated sugar
1 cup packed brown sugar
1 cup creamy peanut butter – you can also use crunchy if you’d like heartier consistency
1 cup butter softened
1 teaspoon vanilla
3 cups flour
1 1/2 teaspoons baking soda
1 teaspoon baking powder
Additional granulated sugar to roll the cookies in – approximately 1/4 cup

Heat oven to 375°.
In large bowl of an electric mixer beat 1/2 cup granulated sugar, the brown sugar, peanut butter, butter, eggs and vanilla on low speed. You can also do this by hand but it will take a bit longer. Once everything is thoroughly mixed, add your dry ingredients (flour, baking soda and baking powder).
Now comes the fun. Shape dough into 1-inch balls and roll in granulated sugar. For more added color and fun you can also roll these in sugar in holiday colors.
Place on ungreased cookie sheet about two inches apart – they are going to spread.
Bake for approximately 8 minutes, remove from oven and gently push one Hershey Kiss into the center of each cookie. Return to the oven for 1 additional minute, remove and cool on wire rack.
You can change these up easily by using different flavors of Hershey Kisses since there are so many options available.
