Happy Easter! Happy Spring!

Happy Easter to all of you and your families!  Have a great day today!!  Don't eat too many chocolate bunnies!
I have a deal for you bloggers to wish each of you a Happy Spring!  Keep reading to the bottom of this post to find out! :)
I have been working outside on a ton of projects and have lots to show you next week! :)  Working outside in the spring is oh so rewarding!  I hope that soon I can show you my own flowers...after my hard work pays off that is!  Until then...some spring eye candy for all of you...and stay tuned next week for some outdoor posts!!
After today, it will be time to seriously get ready for Mother's Day!  Remember I did a whole week of great handmade gifts to make or buy for you mom!  None of those your style??  I think photo books make the perfect personalized gift!!  You can customize it to your recipient!  There is nothing like making your mom cry on Mother's Day....tears of joy of course!  Imagine a photobook with your kid's pictures plus add in some things they colored or drew!
Even if you do make your mom a handmade gift you are going to need a card right??  Why not making a customized card with Shutterfly??  Those are the kind of cards moms keep forever!  Go ahead pull up the website and leave it on the computer for hubby to see!  You can drop a hint...
While you are shopping on Shutterfly, be sure to add a Father's Day card to your cart!  Dads love customized cards too!  You dad, hubby, grandpa -- you can get cards for them all.  And you know Father's Day will be here before you know it.  Show dad some love!
Do you have a blog??  I have a great deal for you!  Sign up for a chance at 50 free cards from Shutterfly if you have a blog!  I know awesome right!  And yes this is my post to get my 50 free cards.  All of the opinions are my own.  I have been a Shutterfly fan for years.  Now I just get a chance to give them a promo!  I hope some of you get a this great opportunity too!

Ragamuffin Garland ala The Shabby Chic Cottage

So my mod podge bunnies from yesterday needed some help...  I went to Gina's blog The Shabby Chic Cottage....cause she has great ideas right??  She did a great ragamuffin garland a while back plus another lighted version.  I have been dying to make my own...and the bunnies needed help...
Now don't they look so much better??  Nestled in a bed of shabby raggy goodness!!
I literally made this from scraps.  I took a long strip of muslin scrap and just started tying on strips of scrap fabric that were "spring" in color or interesting in texture.
So in mine you can find burlap, ribbon, canvas, pieces of old sheets, muslin, ticking, any scrap that was laying around was fair game!
I just filled up my little wagon with my garland and nestled in my bunnies!
A very shabby easter scene....that works with the rest of my home decor but still gives a touch of spring!
Break out your scrap pile and get to tying.  It will only take you a little while...and it is free!!  Put your garland in a wagon, on your mantle, hang it on your wall, just any way you want to display!

Mod Podge a Little Gray Bunny (or two)

Getting in the mood for Easter and spring?  Me too!  So I made some little gray bunnies!
I actually got some of these little brown craft paper bunnies at goodwill last year for next to nothing!  I had some gray tissue paper plus mod podge.  So I free to me Easter craft!
Just tear your tissue paper to size and mod podge it on.  Easy peasy!
And such a pretty gray color!  I think the gray is a touch of unexpected...you would expect my bunnies to be white or pastels.
But the gray is has a slight shimmer to it....perfect modern touch....
So I added my little bunnies to my vintage wood wagon....
But it really needs something else....something is missing....
Stay tuned tomorrow for the conclusion of the wagon Easter decor...cause you know I had to fix the something missing!

~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~
Hello The Country Chic Cottage readers!  I am Ashley, the face and voice behind Simply Designing and I am so excited to be here today to participate in "What Would You Do With It" Wednesday!!!
Simply Designing
I am fairly new to blogland but am loving every minute of it!  I am an interior designer and a floral designer.  I own my own business.  I also love to dabble in crafts, baby / child items, very occasional sewing, lots of baking, cake decorating and a variety of other things.
I love finding ways to make my life more SIMPLE!
I enjoy keeping busy and I have a list a mile long of "projects" I want to do.  And I love posting about my projects on my blog!  I also LOVE new visitors, comments and new followers!  (hint hint! :-)
In addition, I am a wife to a wonderful husband for 9 years, and a mom of a 3.5 year old spunky little girl and a sweet cuddly 3 month old little boy!  So much fun!
Ok.  Now.  On to the GOOD stuff!
What would you do with this???
Back at Easter-time, I found these little trees at the Dollar Store near me.  At the time, I bought one to make an Easter Tree out of it.  It turned out cute don't you think?
Well, I loved it so much, I went back to the store to buy another one.  My original thinking was that I wanted to buy one more to make a Halloween-inspired tree come October.  But, when I arrived at the dollar store, 3 trees jumped into my cart and don't ask me why, but I bought all 3 of them...they only cost a dollar...so why not, right?!?!
Well, now I have 3 trees, and only a plan for one of them!
Help!!!  I can't let a good tree go to waste!  So, what would you do with this tree?
I can't wait to hear all of your fabulous ideas!!!  Thank you so much for taking the time to tell me what you would do with it!
And while you are stewing on this, be sure to stop by my blog Simply Designing HERE to poke around and check out some of my posts and tutorials.
Happy Designing!

So what would you do with those trees?

Confession Time - Jars are my weakness...

Yes long before I discovered blogland, I loved jars.  Old canning jars are like my drugs -- can't get enough.  But now that I am out and about in blogland, I realize that jars are the things to have.  And let's face it -- they are versatile...
They can be put together empty for a great display.  (We can talk another time about my addiction to old spice containers...)
Please don't leave out the vintage soda and milk bottles -- gorgeous!
Of course you can add various fillers to your jars to make them really pop.
Dried oranges are easy and cute.  Or in an old jug try my sheet music rolls.
Of course, we cannot forget apothecary jars.  Don't hide those old pearl necklaces in your jewlery cabinet...display them in a jar!  And what would any country home be without a touch of rafia.
Seashells look great anywhere.
We can't leave out easter eggs in honor of the upcoming holiday.
You can also display your extra beads and buttons for craft project in jars -- take them out if you need em.  Dried beans are gorgeous in a jar!  I feel like that has to be the way my great grandma stored her beans.
Even the most mundane of household objects looks like art when put in a jar.
Are you addicted to jars?  How do you display them?  More ideas for fillers?  Tell me about your jar obsession...
