Y’all are going to love these Norm of the North cookies. What is Norm of the North? It is a new family film that is going to be in theaters everywhere January 15th. I have a movie trailer you can watch in the post below (then you can get hooked like me!). When they asked to partner with me to write a blog post, I took one look at that trailer and said yes! I love a good family film that makes me laugh…and Norm promises to do just that.
Norm of the North Cookies
These cookies are super simple to make. So you can whip up a batch before or after going to see Norm in theaters opening weekend. You will need the following ingredients:
- Double Stuff Oreo Cookies
- White candy coating
- Black writing icing
Melt the white candy coating according to the package directions. Dip in the M&Ms and place inside the Oreos as shown below. I had to hold the “ears” for about 30 seconds before they would dry enough to stay in place.
Place the entire cookie in the white candy coating and be sure to cover the entire thing. Remove and lay on waxed paper to dry.
You can start adding the black icing when the cookies are still wet or after they have dried. Just apply the icing as seen below in a Norm like face. I used toothpicks to move the icing and get it just right.
Allow everything to dry and you are ready to celebrate Norm of the North with your kids and some delicious (but easy to make) cookies.
I promised those of you that had not heard of Norm of the North a little preview. You can watch the trailer below to see more about how a a polar bear (Rob Schneider) travels to New York to stop a maniacal developer from building luxury condominiums in the Arctic. Trust me….you are going to laugh…
