I am wrapping up day 1 of Craft Lightning with some quick and easy camp crafts. Our bloggers have came up with some amazing crafts for any kids craft camp! Or use these ideas in your home to get crafty this summer while school is out of session. If you want a chance to be featured here this week, be sure to link up to our Craft Lightning linky party as well. If you have missed any of the other days of camp crafts, check out the features from day 2, day 3, day 4, and day 5.
First up is One Krieger Chick with some amazing camp themed shirts made out of basic shapes. This teaches shape recognition plus gives the kids a fun shirt to take home. Click here for the full instructions on this simple craft.
Go on a treasure hunt for nature objects and turn those into an amazing monograms like this one from Let’s Eat Grandpa. This is gorgeous! I might have to make one of these for myself. Click here to get the full tutorial.
Next up is Fireflies and Jellybeans with an amazing way to use up envelopes from all of that junk mail. Make your own travel puppet shows with this idea. Click here to see all of the puppet shows and how they work.
Busy Mom’s Helper is also recycling but this time it is cans. Let the campers make this fun ladybug bird feeder! The kids will love to take this one home and hang up in a tree. Click here to get the full instructions and supply list.
The Gagen girls are joining us again and going on a nature hike. Let the campers collect fun objects on a nature hike then come back to make this nature mobile. Click here to get the full instructions for this fun project that all kids will love.
Last one for today is Make Life Lovely and these amazing popsicle stick bracelets. Did you know they could bend like this? Amaze your campers with this fun craft that you can do together. Click here to get the full instructions for how to make your own.
Our linky party feature for today is It Happens in a Blink and these great juice pouch boats! We sort of have a recycling theme going on here today. Each camper can make a boat then give them a try in a river, creek, or lake. Click here to learn more about this fun activity.
My partner for this series, 30 Minute Crafts, is sharing an easy faux hair wrap. She tells an amazing story about braiding hair when she went to camp and these faux wraps would be perfect to make at camp or send to camp with your little girl. Click here for the full instructions on making your own.
Just in case you missed it, this morning I shared some fun plastic canvas storage boxes that are easy to make and teach basic sewing skills. Get the full instructions and pattern for making your own here.
That is it for the quick and easy camp crafts of day 1. Stay tuned as there are tons more to come this week and you don’t want to miss any of them!
