What You Will Need

  • Stiff felt sheet (I used these large sheets cut in half)
  • Felt scraps (I bought this bag of felt scraps to make all of my busy books)
  • Shapes page pattern (print by clicking here)
  • Ribbon
  • Velcro
  • Sewing machine
  • Thread
  • Scissors

Instructions

  • Start by printing out the shapes pattern page and cut all of your pieces from the felt.
  • Cut the ribbon and velcro pieces to attach to the busy book page.
  • Sew the velcro to both of the shape pieces to that they will stick together on your finished busy book page.
One of the shapes should get the ribbon under the velcro as shown below.
  • Sew the shapes that do not have the ribbon to the stiff felt sheet randomly on the page. Sew the loose ends of the ribbons to the page as shown below.
  • Sew on the pocket leaving the top open.

Notes

  • I did not measure the ribbon lengths but just make sure they will extend from the inside of the pocket to the shapes with plenty of slack.
