Transform your old or upcycled furniture with this simple painting method! I made a chalky painted nightstand, but you can use the same process on a coffee table, end table, or any other piece of furniture.

What You Will Need

  • Americana Chalky Finish Paint in Vintage and Everlasting
  • Paintbrushes
  • Brocade motif stencil
  • Painter's or masking tape
  • Krylon ColorMaster spray paint
  • Americana Décor Crème Wax

Instructions

  • I painted the chest in the color Everlasting and the front of the drawers with the color Vintage. Since I used chalky paint, no prep work was needed before painting.
  • I used a brocade motif stencil to create the design on top. I applied the chalky paint with a stencil brush. Remove your stencil from the nightstand surface as soon as you are done painting.
  • Use spray paint to paint the knob hardware. You may need to paint multiple coats.
  • Once the paint dries, apply two coats of Americana Creme Wax to seal and protect your new paint job.
