What You Will Need

  • Stretch HTV
  • Screen Print Confetti (Make your own or purchase it here)
  • Parchment Paper
  • T-shirt

Instructions

Cutting HTV Design with a Cricut

  • Add the uploaded design onto your canvas and then resize it to fit the shirt you're going to put it on.
  • Make sure you have the layers attached and then click Make It. Make sure your image is mirrored and then continue. Since we're using HTV we need to mirror it, HTV is always mirrored.
  • I cut my material on my Cricut machine and used the Everyday Iron-on setting. This is a stretch HTV product but that setting worked fine for me.
  • Using a weeding tool I removed all the HTV that I don't want to be pressed onto my shirt.

How to Apply Screen Print Confetti to T-shirts

  • To apply the screen print confetti I am using the Cricut Auto Press and have it set to 350 degrees for 10 seconds.
  • Preheat your shirt to remove any moisture. Allow it to cool and then sprinkle your confetti.
  • Once you have your confetti where you want it cover it with parchment paper and apply heat for 10 seconds. Once it's done peel back the parchment paper.
  • You may find that some of the confetti sticks to the parchment paper, that's okay. Peel it back and throw away the parchment paper if any confetti stuck to it.

How to Apply HTV to Screen Print Confetti

  • Before you apply the HTV to your shirt adjust the time and temperature to whatever your HTV calls for.
  • Now you can just simply locate the HTV in place right over the top of the screen print confetti. Place a clean piece of parchment paper over the top and press according to the instructions for your HTV.
  • Allow the HTV to cool a little and then peel back the parchment paper and the carrier sheet for your HTV. I have found that it depends on which brand of HTV you use how much of the screen print confetti sticks to it. Some carrier sheets are just stickier than others.
  • Go ahead and peel back the carrier sheet and then one more time add another sheet of clean parchment paper over the top.

How to Finish a Screen Print Confetti Design

  • For this final press, I am going to press for the full time and temperature for the HTV again, essentially doing a second press.
  • I have found that after this last press if you allow the whole thing to cool for about 10 seconds before you peel back the parchment paper it should peel back cleanly.
  • If you're still having some of the confetti stick to the parchment paper you can press it again one more time following the same steps.
  • Once the design has cooled I like to run my hand over the surface of the shirt to make sure everything feels like it's stuck down really well.
