What You Will Need

  • High-quality cutting board
  • Pencil
  • Stencil optional
  • Scroll saw
  • Sandpaper

Instructions

  • You'll need to decide on the type of wood you'd like to use. The different types of wood will impact both the appearance and durability of your cutting board.
  • You will need one high-quality cutting board from any store or a piece of wood in your home that is suitable for making food. I picked this one up at Walmart, and it was seriously cheap!
  • Take your cutting board and trace out a mason jar shape using either a stencil or a pencil. I traced a large jar plaque that I had at home, but you could also print any shape from the internet.
  • Once you've traced the shape, use a scroll saw to cut out the mason jar. Make sure that you don't cut it too deeply, or else your cutting board won't be strong enough.
  • I used my handy BladeRunner from Rockwell. I love that thing y’all!
  • After cutting the outline of your mason jar cutting board, use sandpaper to smooth out any rough edges. You can also use an orbital sander or a sanding tool to go around the edges well.
  • I used my Dremel with a sanding bit. You really want those edges smooth!
