Line a baking sheet with parchment paper. In a medium saucepan, combine water, 1/2 cup sugar, and 1 tablespoon pumpkin pie spice. Bring the mixture to a full boil. Add the almonds. Cook for a few minutes until the mixture is syrupy. Pour the almonds onto a baking sheet. Salt immediately to taste. Separate almonds with your fork. Pull them away from any excess liquid as well. Allow to cool. At this point, the almonds will be slightly sticky. Add 1/4 cup of sugar along with a few pinches of pumpkin pie spice to a zip topped bag. Shake to mix. Add in almonds a few at a time and shake to coat. Remove from bag and add to a serving bowl. These spiced almonds are now ready to eat!
