Easy Caramel Sauce

What You Will Need

  • 1/2 cup 1 stick unsalted butter
  • 1/3 cup milk
  • 1/2 cup firmly packaged brown sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract

  • Place butter, milk, and brown sugar in a heavy saucepan over low heat.
  • As soon as melted, increase the heat to medium and bring to a boil.
  • Boil for 5 minutes stirring frequently.
  • Remove from heat and let stand 5 minutes before stirring in extract.
  • Set aside to cool and thicken.
