Making Straw Rockets with Kids

These kids rockets are easy to make and will teach your kids a science lesson as well!

What You Will Need

  • Paper
  • Printer
  • Scissors
  • Two straws one that can fit inside of the other
  • Tape
  • Colored pencils markers, or crayons
  • Free printable rockets

Instructions

  • Print the free printable file.

  • Let your kids color their rockets with anything you have on hand.

  • Cut all of the rockets out with scissors. Older kids can do this step themselves.

  • Cut the larger straw to fit on the back of the rocket.

  • Tape one end of these tubes closed.

  • Tape the straw piece to the back of one of the paper rockets.

  • Add the second rocket on top with additional tape.

  • Add in your smaller straw and your rocket is ready to play!
