You did a good job with the freehand. I think that is really hard. I am trying to spruce up my front and back porch. It won’t quit raining (which is probably a good thing) and I just don’t have enough hours in the day.
Your free hand is much better than mine would have been! I love old, seasoned wood too. Very welcoming! ;O)
You are so brave to free hand. I’m a mess when I try. That’s why I don’t. Spray paint can help your wicker chairs. It binds the wicker together and you’ll get at least another year out of them!

You free handed that? Awesome! I LOVE LOVE LOVE anything that has a farmhouse, worn look. Your’s came out lovely!
I had some wicker chairs that a cat attacked and damaged on the arms and legs. I first wove back in everthing that I could, trimmed off the excess, then gave it a wash with a power hose attachment {not real strong, just enough to knock off a bit of the older paint and gunk} then I let it thoroughly dry in the sun and painted it with the spray gun. The spray was the best was to go {just my thought} since it took several coats, I could be as thorough on each coat as I wanted, and the new fresh color made the “worn out” spot blend right in. Really difficult to tell where the worn spot even was! good luck on your redo! 🙂
