Chocolate Hazelnut Iced Brownies plus a GIVEAWAY! #mccormickbakesale #ad

McCormick was kind enough to send me a kit to experiment with so I started up the oven and did some baking.  I am here today with an awesome recipe for Chocolate Hazelnut Iced Brownies as well as a virtual bake sale in which you and I can both be winners.  Now that the kids are back in school those notes for bake sale donations will be flying in.  What if you can take boxed brownie mix and make it extra special in just a few simple steps?  Yep I am going to show you how to go from blah to WOW!  And y’all know that WOW just flies off of that bake sale table right?  You can use unique recipes from the McCormick Kitchens to add that WOW factor to your bake sale goodies.  I took a recipe from there and added my own spin for you.  The chocolate hazelnut brownies look delicious but what if they could be just slightly different?  Lets fire up those ovens ladies and gents.

Ingredients
  1. 1 box brownie mix (plus ingredients to make according to box directions)
  2. 1/2 tsp McCormick Almond Extract
  3. 1 1/2 cups sugar
  4. 7 tbsp milk
  5. 4 tbsp butter
  6. 1/4 tsp salt
  7. 1 tsp McCormick Pure Vanilla Extract
  8. 1/2 cup chocolate hazelnut spread
Instructions
  1. Prepare brownies according to package directions but add in 1/2 tsp McCormick Almond Extract before baking. Bake according to package directions and then allow to cool completely.
  2. For chocolate hazelnut frosting: In a saucepot, mix sugar, milk, butter, and salt. Stir constantly over medium high heat until the mixture comes to a boil. Then stop stirring and allow to boil for two minutes (do not stir). Remove from heat and add vanilla and chocolate hazelnut spread quickly (be careful when adding!!). Stir very quickly and vigorously until the mixture is smooth. Pour directly on brownies and smooth. Allow to cool then slice to serve.
Notes
  1. NOTE: I baked my brownies in an 8x8 pan so the brownie and the icing would be thicker. You can also use this same recipe for a 9x13 pan.
