For a new twist on a classic, you will want to try my orange spice sweet tea recipe. I love creating new spins on the classic Southern sweet tea. This is my latest version and I must say it works perfectly for fall. This recipe is perfect paired with any meal in the cooler weather. Orange Spice Sweet Tea Recipe
(makes 2 quarts of tea)
- Lipton iced tea (I used the Lipton 24ct Regular (Caff) Iced Black Tea – Family Sized tea bags)
- 2/3 cups sugar
- 1 orange (additional for garnish if desired)
- 1 cinnamon stick
Start by peeling your orange. We will use the actual orange in the recipe in a few minutes. Add the orange peel and cinnamon stick to a stock pot. Add 4 cups of water and bring to a boil.
Pour the boiling water over 2 family sized tea bags in a heat proof pitcher. Brew 3 – 5 minutes. Remove tea bags, orange peel, and cinnamon stick. Stir in sugar until dissolved. Add juice from orange. Stir in 6 cups of ice cubes until melted. Keep your orange spice sweet tea refrigerated. Serve over ice with additional orange slices if desired.
