How To Make Cupcake Gift Idea
Cupcakes and mason jars?! Yes, please!
Today, I am showing you how to combine two of my favorite things to create a sweet gift that anyone will love. I chose to make this cupcake gift idea with a summery vibe, but you can customize it to fit your gift recipient. Also, you can make this gift idea as simple or as detailed as you would like.
I had a bit more time on my hands, so I baked my own cupcakes and made a handmade gift tag. However, you can use store-bought cupcakes and a handwritten gift tag.
The possibilities are truly endless, and regardless of how you choose to make your cupcake gift, I know your gift recipient will love it! – Cause who doesn’t love free cupcakes?!
Supplies Needed To Make Cupcake Gift Ideas
- Cupcakes – These can be homemade or store-bought
- Optional Cupcake Items – Sprinkles, Paper Straws, etc.
- Mason Jar
- Gift Tag
- Twine
- Optional Tag Items – Stamps, Stickers, Pens, etc.
Step 1: Bake Or Buy Cupcakes
I wanted something summery and delicious, so I decided to bake some strawberry lemonade cupcakes (the cake was lemon and the icing was strawberry). However, you can bake whatever cupcakes you like, or you can buy them from the store.
Step 2: Add Cupcakes To Mason Jars
Once your cupcakes are cooled and iced, you are ready to add them to your mason jars!
Grab a mason jar lid and add a layer of springles to the inside of the lid. Then, nest your cupcake inside the lid.
NOTE: Since I made strawberry lemonade cupcakes, I added half of a paper straw to make my cupcakes look like a glass of strawberry lemonade.
Step 3: Screw On The Mason Jar & Add Tag
Twist on the mason jar to get your cupcake ready to give. Then make your personalized gift tag!
To create your personalized gift tag, you can stamp onto a gift tag (like I did), handwrite a message, or add a sticker. When your gift tag has been created, simply use twine to tie it around the lid of your mason jar.
Once you tie on your personalized tag, this cupcake gift idea in a mason jar is ready to be given to anyone! These would be fun gifts for teachers, neighbors, friends, party favors, and more!
Tips and Ticks for Cupcake Gift Idea
Now that you’ve seen this fun cupcake gift idea, are you ready to make your own? Here are a few tips and tricks to ensure your project goes as smoothly as possible!
- Choose Your Mason Jar First – When making this gift idea, remember that your cupcake needs to be able to fit inside your mason jar. Due to that, I find it easier to have your mason jar already picked out, so you know what size your cupcake needs to be.
- Clean Mason Jar & Lid – Clean your mason jar and lid before you add your cupcake. Doing this is not only sanitary, but you can also inspect your jar for any nicks, cuts, or scratches.
- Skip The Sprinkles – If you don’t like the idea of the sprinkles or think they would be too messy, you can skip them.
- Tape Your Cupcake Down – If you are worried about your cupcake ”moving or shifting” in your mason jar, you can add a bit of double-sided tape to the bottom of your cupcake liner and press it into place on your lid.
- Have Fun With Decorating Everything – Whether it’s the cupcakes or the outside of the jar, get creative and have fun personalizing this gift!
