Ever have one of those projects you adore? That is the case with this metallic painted pineapple fruit bowl. This post is sponsored by DecoArt however all opinions and projects are my own. I am using the Americana Multi-Surface paint that is available in Michaels. Visit the DecoArt Multi-Surface website for more crafting ideas and inspiration.
I found the wood pineapple bowl at a yard sale for a steal. You can use this same method to paint any wood bowl that you find at a second hand store as well. I am also using the Americana Multi-Surface Paint in yellow gold.
I painted the entire outside surface of the bowl but left the inside as raw wood. Please note that the Multi-Surface paints are not food safe so I only used in areas that would not be in contact with the contents. I started with a two coats of paint that I brushed on with a regular paint brush. Allow to dry completely in between coats. I finished things off with a third coat that I dabbed on using a poucer brush.
Why would I use that poucer brush. Well I don’t have to worry about brush strokes and it gives a slightly hammered appearance to my wood bowl. That metallic paint is amazing especially when looking slightly hammered!
Grab any wood bowl you can find and get on a similar project for your home. You will adore it as much as I adore mine! My metallic painted pineapple fruit bowl is now happily sitting on my kitchen counter. Anyone want an apple?
