How To Make Centerpieces Using Mason Jars
Make these centerpieces using mason jars for your summer wedding! A quick and easy way to add metallic paint to mason jars!
Supplies Needed To Make Centerpieces Using Mason Jars
- Americana Decor Metallics (I used copper, pearl, and antique bronze)
- Paint brush
- Rubbing alcohol
- Battery operated lights
- Artificial flowers
- Wide mouth pint jars

Step 1: Clean Mason Jar
Start by cleaning the jars well with rubbing alcohol before beginning. Then do not touch the surface of the jar before painting.
Step 2: Paint Mason Jar
Start with one coat of paint on the clean surface. Allow to dry completely, then add a second coat. With just two coats of paint, the jars will have a slightly opaque finish, allowing the lights to shine through from the inside.

Step 3: Add String Lights To Mason Jars
Add battery-powered string lights to the inside of each jar. This will mean, however, that you can’t use water and real flowers in your jars.

Step 4: Add Fake Flowers To Mason Jars
I just added some faux hydrangeas for my mason jar wedding centerpieces. You could add flowers like baby’s breath that can go without any water for a long period of time.

These easy centerpieces using mason jars are perfect for your wedding. I also love the touch of metallic. The Americana Decor Metallic paints come in a wide variety of colors, so you are sure to find what will work with your wedding colors. These are perfect for a nighttime reception to add a slight glow to the tables!

Tips and Tricks for Centerpieces Using Mason Jars
Now that you’ve seen these fun centerpieces using mason jars, are you ready to make your own? Here are a few tips and tricks to ensure your project goes as smoothly as possible!
- Don’t Skip Cleaning Your Jars – To get the best results for your project, make sure you clean them! Doing this will give your paint a better surface to adhere to.
- Change Up The Size Of The Jars – For this project, I used wide pint jars, but you can use any size mason jar that you like or that fits your wedding’s theme.
- Have Fun Filling Up Your Jars – You don’t have to add flowers to your mason jars! Instead, you can use the following:
- Fake candles (instead of the battery-operated lights)
- Flags (for international weddings)
- Feathers
- Succulents
- Photo Picks (photos that are attached to skewers)
