How To Make Mason Jar Light
I love mason jars. I mean, I deeply love Mason jars! In fact, I have for many, many years – way before it was popular on Pinterest. You can see how much I love them with all of my mason jar crafts!
I have drooled and lusted for a mason jar light forever. Little did I know that I could make one in just minutes with a few simple supplies. You will be amazed at just how easy it is.
Be sure to check out our ideas for mason jar kitchen lights, too! Now that I have my own light, I don't have to drool over those images on Pinterest any longer. I can't believe I put off this project for so long! It is one of those… why did I wait so long?!
You will love how easy (and beautiful!) the end result is! You could easily use these to replace existing pendant lights or add more light wherever you need it.
Supplies Needed To Make Light
- Jar Pendant Light Kit
- Mason jar (regular or one with the bottom removed like this one)
- Light bulb (use low wattage)
Step 1: Attach Light Bulb To Pendant Light
First, attach the light bulb to the pendant light kit.
Step 2: Attach Light To Mason Jar
Then, attach the light kit to your mason jar, and you are done! Now just hang your new DIY light fixture from the ceiling in any room.

CAUTION: I used a very low-wattage bulb to prevent the jar from overheating. You can also get open-bottom mason jars that help let the heat escape. You can even try cutting the bottom off of the jar yourself.

I hung my mason jar light in my craft room! I just used a hook on the ceiling to hang the pendant light. This light fixture would look great in any room, however. If you love all things rustic and farmhouse, consider making some mason jar lights for your home!
