How To Make Fourth Of July Door Decorations
Gather your supplies and then put this wreath together for the 4th of July in no time at all. This works well as door decor, but can hang on a wall or above your mantel as well.
Supplies Needed To Make Fourth Of July Door Decorations
- Wood pallet star (3)
- Craft paint in red, white, and blue
- Power-Tac adhesive
- Paintbrushes
Step 1: Remove Hangers From Stars
Each of the stars comes with a rope hanger attached to it. You will need to remove that first. I just pulled off the staples and removed each one.
Step 2: Paint Stars
Paint each of the stars with the craft paint. You may need two to three coats, depending on what paint you use. Allow to dry in between coats and completely before continuing.
Step 3: Glue Stars Together
Use Power-tac adhesive to secure the stars together. Allow them to dry laying flat on a table.
Once dry, just hang your patriotic door decor on any door of your home. This is definitely a different spin on a wreath, but it looks amazing hanging up. Welcome guests with a trio of wooden stars in patriotic colors.
I personally love these pallet wood stars, but you can probably find an alternative for this using stars that don’t have the slats. Also, these are BIG, so this one really makes a statement when you hang it up. You can also try to find a smaller alternative if you would like.
I find that the Beacon Power-tac adhesive works great on these to hold them together. You could use screws or nails if you would like. I literally only used the glue and it worked so well that they even held when I dropped this entire thing on the floor. So, I would say hanging it will be fine for a really long time.
So, what are you waiting for? Get your supplies and make this patriotic door decor for your home this summer. Everyone will love how it looks!
FAQs About Fourth of July Door Decorations
Here are a couple of questions that I see readers ask about how to make these Fourth of July door decorations. If you have a question, please check to see if I’ve already answered it below. Don’t see it? Leave it for me in the comments!
Can I Use Flat Wood Stars For This Project?
I would not recommend it because the flat wood stars would be difficult to glue together as shown. Instead, I would choose a wooden star that is 3D in shape.
Can I Use Hot Glue For This Project?
You could, but for a better, long-lasting hold, I would recommend using an industrial-strength glue, wood glue, screws, or nails.
How Did You Hang This Patriotic Door Decor?
Since the wooden stars are hollow on the back, I just hung them up on a nail. However, if your wood stars are solid, you can glue a hanger to the back to hang them.
