The holidays are a time for comfort.  With next week being Thanksgiving, it is time for some comfort food!  Our family has special foods that only make an appearance on the Thanksgiving table.  Those foods somehow signify home and comfort to me.  Thanksgiving is all about food, family, home, and comfort.  I collected a few pictures on my pinterest board of the comfort foods that often appear on my table.  Gotta love pinterest for great eye candy!  Y'all -- I did not even realize my sweet potato souffle recipe was so much like Paula's!  Just looking at the picture on Paula's website makes me feel all comfy inside...

Our southern Thanksgiving table will definitely have a casserole dish filled with this great recipe.  More side dishes than you can count on BOTH of your hands will be spread out for a holiday comfort feast.  Thanksgiving is total comfort in my mind.  Christmas but without all the rush and expectations.  Just great food, great company, and tons of homemade comfort.   

So next week at this time, we will be having leftovers of all those great comfort foods.  And dreaming of the comforts of Christmas.  When you get past the hustle and bustle, there are many comforts associated with Christmas.  Warm and fond memories of family time.  Crafts and baking with the kids along side.  The comfort in knowing you picked the perfect gift for the people on your Christmas list.  Comfort in traditions that happen every year like clock work.  Twinkling lights and merry songs dancing in your head.  
This is the time of year for comfort...no matter what holiday comfort means to you and yours.  I hope y'all have a wonderful holiday season!  And that next week kicks off many holiday comforts for your family!
