- Cricut machine and cutting mats (optional)
How to make a snowflake banner
This snowflake banner will take only a few minutes to make – you can even get the kids involved with hanging these up around the house.
Step 1 – Measure your space
Start by measuring the space (or spaces) where you want to place your snowflake banner. Then cut your twine or ribbon a bit longer than the space.
Step 2 – Cut the snowflakes
Below, you’ll find two options for cutting out the snowflakes for the banner.
Option 1 – Cut by hand
If you are cutting the snowflakes by hand, fold the music sheets and cut them into a snowflake. You remember cutting snowflakes in elementary school right? Same concept we are just using fancier paper.
Option 2 – Cut with a Cricut
Cutting the sheet music with a Cricut machine is another option. In Cricut design space, there are several snowflake options in images. You can filter the search as well – I searched “free” and found many that will work. You can even take it further and filter “single layer” and “cut only”.
Add the snowflakes to your canvas and then size them to fit in your space. Keep in mind the thickness of your sheet music. Thinner paper will be harder to cut into smaller snowflakes.
When you are ready to cut, click Make and then you can select how many project copies you want to cut. This will all depend on how long you want your banner and how large your snowflakes are.
Step 3 – Hang the banner
Once all of your snowflakes are cut, hang them from twine or ribbon with mini clothespins and step back to admire your work!
That’s it! Hang these snowflake banners wherever you need a little snowy magic.
