Just a little fun on Friday night! The kids and I made little snowmen last weekend. Now they are all dry and ready for their world premier! Learn how to use corn starch to make clay snowmen below. Decorate them with screws, washers, and other hardware bits for a fun and inexpensive project you can make with the kids.
How to make clay snowmen
- 3/4 cup white glue
- 1 cup cornstarch
- 2 tablespoons mineral oil
- 1 tablespoon lemon juice
- Non-stick pot
- Wooden spoon
Add cornstarch and glue to a nonstick pot. Mix together and then add mineral oil and lemon juice. Blend well. Cook over low flame stirring constantly until the mixture thickens. Remove from heat and use a little additional mineral oil around the top of your clay mixture. Remove the mass from the pot with your hands. Knead until smooth. Form into balls and create snowmen. Use various hardware bits and fabric to create the cutest snowmen around!
They were very easy to make and add a touch of whimsy!
Plus we all had a ton of fun making them!
Now go have some fun and make your own clay snowmen. You can make them with ingredients you have around your home for some snow day fun with the kids!
