I cleaned everything out first including dead foliage and weeds. Then I fed my plants with the Ironite liquid lawn and garden sprayer. You just attach the hose to the bottle and begin feeding. I love things that are easy to use don’t you? (Please be sure to follow all package directions and precautions when using any product of this nature.) The Ironite® Plus Liquid Lawn and Garden Spray 6-2-1 is dual-acting that feeds through foliage and roots formulated with 1% Iron and does not cause plant “burn.” I definitely did not want to burn my existing plants so this product was perfect for me.
I also grabbed a few more plants at the home improvement store to fill in a few more areas of my landscape. I am slowly making this front look amazing. Landscaping is so expensive and my approach has been to add a little over time to get that gorgeous summer flower garden I desire. Feeding my plants correctly will also help me to keep healthy those plants I have already purchased.
I also add a weed killer granule to my beds every year that helps to kill weeds before they start. Then I lay newspaper all over the ground with pine needles on top. We do not like mulch so pine needles are our choice. I use newspaper because it will naturally dissolve and go back into the soil by next spring. I use three layers of newspaper everywhere there is not a plant.
I used the Ironite on my flowers about 2 weeks ago and I can really see an improvement. Everything is greener and looking wonderful. If you don’t like the idea of the garden sprayer, Ironite is available in several special formulations. Ironite® ensures plants receive the essential nutrients needed for fast-acting and long-lasting “greening.”
This area will continue to grow in as some of those plants in the back are only slightly up out of the soil. I love watching my landscaping change and grow over the years. Getting better over time with the help of spring fling must haves like Ironite Plus Lawn and Plant Food.
