How To Make Wedding Photo With Song Lyrics
Sometimes, certain details of special occasions are easily forgotten after the hustle and bustle of the big event, especially for weddings! Now, you can give the happy couple a gift they will cherish for a lifetime.
This idea is simple: print the lyrics from their first dance or the song used for the bride’s walk down the aisle, or any other meaningful song to the couple, in your chosen font, and transfer them to a photo mat. You can adapt this concept for any size and number of photos. A personalized memento like this makes a truly special gift for the couple
And this gift-giving idea doesn’t have to stop at weddings! This concept can also be applied to meaningful quotes or verses for graduations, anniversaries, new babies, baptisms, and other significant life moments.
Supplies Needed To Make Wedding Photo With Song Lyrics
- Frame with mat
- Cricut Machine
- Vinyl (in color of your choice)
- Standard Grip Cricut Mat
- Weeding Tools
- Transfer paper
Step 1: Create Song Lyric Design in Cricut Design Space
Start by laying out your song lyrics in Cricut Design Space and choosing a font.
Step 2: Cut Song Lyric
Be sure to measure your photo mat to get everything sized correctly. Then, cut the words from vinyl.
Step 3: Weed Lyric Design
Remove the excess vinyl by “weeding” around the words of the lyrics.
Step 4: Apply Transfer Tape
Then, apply transfer tape over the top of the words.
Step 5: Peel Back Transfer Tape
Peel back the transfer tape so that the vinyl words are left on the tape.
Step 6: Place Transfer Tape Onto Photo Mat
Place the transfer tape (with the words) onto the photo mat and press down on the vinyl. Carefully remove the transfer tape so only the song lyrics are left behind on the mat.
Step 8: Repeat Process For All Lyrics
Repeat the process until all of your lyrics are transferred onto your photo mat.
Step 9: Add Photos
Add in the pictures from the wedding and place them inside your picture frame.
This wedding frame is now ready to hang in your home or give as a gift to the bride and groom!

- Pick Your Song First – As I mentioned before you can use the song from the first dance, the song that is used for the bride to walk down the aisle, etc. Regardless of what song you pick, I would decide on the one you are going to use before you buy your frame and mat. This is because if there is a certain lyric you want to use, this will give you an indication of how big your frame and mat should be.
- Get Creative With Frames – Once you have the song picked out, get creative with your frame! Depending on the look you are going for, you can buy a frame from your local craft store, big box store, or thrift store. You can also look up ”large wedding frames” online to get even more options!
- Use Colors From The Wedding – To make this frame even more personal, you can incorporate the colors of the wedding! For example, if the wedding colors were navy blue and gold, you could get a gold frame and use vinyl in navy blue for the letters of the song lyrics.
