Decorative Storage Boxes -- Crafty Quickies

Do you have any plain chipboard boxes?  Want to turn them into something special in less than 15 minutes?  My "ikat" themed decorative storage boxes are a cinch to make!

Do y'all want to guess how I got that fuzzy "ikat" appearance on my boxes?  It is probably not what you think!

I used MARKERS!  Just use a broad tip marker and draw on your lines.  So easy!  The chipboard makes the marker bleed slightly.  So the lines get all fuzzy similar to an ikat print.  Playing around with chipboard and my markers paid off in this case.

Yet they look like they took you forever to get that look!

I used a straight edge (ruler) to start off my lines.  Then just kept adding in both directions.  These two probably took me 10 minutes.

They are perfect for storage or use them as a gift box!

Stay tuned for even more crafty quickies -- we are only on day two!  Head on over and link up YOUR quick craft plus see even more Crafty Quickies!
