Welcome to day 3 of quick and easy Seuss crafts! Y’all will love this wood slice Seuss quote sign….and how easy it is to make. You can see more quick and easy Seuss crafts at the bottom of this post so don’t miss those. And if you have missed any of the fun this week, be sure to catch up with day 1 and day 2. You can also find tons of Dr. Seuss fun on our Pinterest board. Now lets get crafty!
To make your own wood slice quote you will need:
Pick the quote of your choice. I choose a great one from the famous Dr. Seuss but this technique will work with any quote or words that you want to use. Design the quote in the Silhouette software so that it will fit on your basswood plaque. Cut the quote from the gold foil.
I used a pick tool from Silhouette to make sure all of the letter centers and excess foil was removed from the quote. The tool is optional but does make the process easier. Apply the transfer paper over your quote and remove the backing paper. You now have a backwards quote like the image below that is sticky side up.
Apply the quote to the wood slice carefully. Then remove the transfer paper. Your project is complete! Just that fast you have a fun piece of decor for your home. And I love the way the gold foil shines y’all. I have been using it for tons of projects lately.
Display your new creation anywhere in your home. I love having an elegant quote sign to honor Dr. Seuss. This one will work in most any room in my home.
