I am going to demonstrate this technique on a candle holder but literally, any surface is perfect for DIY beach crafts like this one. Needing more DIY beach bathroom decor? Supplies needed to make DIY beach room decor:

- Black Metal & Glass Candle Holder (any surface will work here)
- Battery Operated Pillar Candle
- Jute Rope (I used 3 of the 9 foot coils)
- Hot Glue and Glue Gun
- Crushed Shells
- Scissors
How to make DIY beach bathroom decor:
Start wrapping any surface with rope using hot glue to secure into place. Be sure to wrap tightly so your surface does not show through. Here the black works well at hiding any imperfections. If you have a brightly colored surface, you might want to paint it black before wrapping.
Be sure to wrap all of the surfaces. Here we are even wrapping rope up under the base. You want your finished DIY beach decor to look good from all angles. When you run out of one length of rope, just butt up with the end on the next length and keep wrapping.
When the base of this one was complete, we also did a few wraps on the top band of the candle holder. Look at your piece for any surfaces that may need to be wrapped to complete the beach look.
For the candle holder, we put a battery operated candle inside as well as some crushed shells to complete the project. Need more DIY beach decor? You can also make those sea glass mason jars shown below in minutes.
