How To Make DIY Gifts
Today, we are continuing Craft Week, where I am joining my fellow crafty friends to bring you great crafts all week long. You can find the crafts from the other bloggers at the bottom of this post!
So far this week, I've created my tulip wreath and shared a tutorial on making painted handle cutting boards. I also want you to be sure you saw my post on making writable labels with the Cricut Joy and this DIY magnolia garland, which is perfect for a wedding. To wrap up the week, I shared these DIY cosmetic bags and a fun idea for making shaker crafts with Xyron!
To add to all these amazing craft projects, I am sharing an idea for making DIY photo gifts! These photo gifts are perfect for any occasion, require only a few supplies, and are customizable. So, grab your favorite photos and let's make some DIY photo gifts!
Supplies Needed To Make DIY Photo Gifts
- Printed photos (I am using my HP Sprocket to print mine)
- Mod Podge (you can use regular or outdoor formula)
- Acrylic jewelry blanks
- Jewelry findings
- Jewelry pliers
- Scissors
- Marker

Step 1: Print Photos & Adhere Them To Jewelry Blanks
Start with a printed photo. If you are using the HP Sprocket, the photo will be self-adhesive. You can also use a photo printed on regular photo paper. Trim your photo to the size of your acrylic jewelry blank using scissors. Then use Mod Podge to adhere it to your blank. Be sure to apply 2-3 coats of Mod Podge over your photo for protection, and allow each coat to dry before adding another.

Step 2: Add Photo Jewelry Blanks To Keychains & Necklaces
Then use your jewelry findings to attach your acrylic blank to a keychain or necklace. You can use this same procedure for a ton of gift ideas that mom will love.

Once your gifts are ready, wrap them up and surprise mom this Mother's Day.

I love giving handmade gifts for Mother's Day, and this gift idea is easy enough that the kids can help make it.

So, plan on making some DIY photo gifts this year. Mom will love carrying her little ones on a keychain or around her neck.

FAQs About DIY Photo Gifts
Here are a couple of questions that I see readers ask about these DIY photo gifts. If you have a question, please check whether I’ve already answered it below. Don’t see your question? Leave it for me in the comments!
Can You Make Other Types Of Jewelry?
Yes! Jewelry blanks come in different shapes, sizes, and styles. For this project, I chose to make a necklace and a keychain because I felt they would be popular gifts. However, you can find jewelry blanks for earrings, bracelets, and even rings!
What Type Of Paper Should I Use, If I Don't Have The HP Sprocket?
I would recommend using photo paper when printing off your photos!
Can I Add Mod Podge Dimensional Magic On Top Of The Photo?
Absolutely! I liked the flat look of the Mod Podge, but you can definitely add Mod Podge Dimensional Magic for a more protective layer. However, if you go this route, make sure your Mod Podge is completely dry before you add the Dimensional Magic.
