I have seen 3D art popping up everywhere. I decided to put my own spin on it for Christmas. My 3D Snowman Art...
First thing I had to do was find the perfect frame and mat to make my idea reality. This cow fit the bill...hello 80s you left behind your cow...
I used Krylon Dual on the frame and the new Krylon Glitter Blast on the mat. The great folks at Krylon sent me some spray paint to play with for OMTWI. :)
The mat took about 3 REALLY good coats of the glitter blast. But I wanted it to be IN YOUR FACE glittery! And I really think it fits that description -- don't you?
Now let's fill up that glittery mat. First I made a cardstock back for my snowman. Just some white cardstock, snowflake stamps, and a gray ink pad.
Stamp randomly all over the cardstock...
Now for our snowman! Take Styrofoam balls and cut them in half. You don't even have to paint em. The white is perfect for our little snowman...
I cut one of each size in half. I used a standard steak knife to cut mine in half.
Now let's make a face! I painted on eyes and a mouth with black craft paint. I took a very small piece of orange scrapbook paper and rolled it up into a nose...attach with hot glue...
I took a couple of strips of fleece and tied them into a scarf...
Hot glue your body and head to the cardstock. Then hot glue on his scarf. Add painted buttons down the bottom two balls. I just taped the cardstock into my glittery mat...
I decided he needed a hat. I just cut a pointed piece of the same fleece and hot glued it on...
This is a really quick project once your have all of your pieces painted and the paint dries...
I just love how he sticks out from the frame! This is my first shot at 3D art and I must say I love it...
I think this one will make a great addition to my decor this holiday season...
Break out your steak knifes and glitter blast and make your own!

I love this! It turned out fabulously! However, my favorite part of the post...? "Hello 80s you left behind your cow" and "in your face glittery"
