Using Vintage Items
A great way to add that rustic wood touch is to grab a few vintage items to add to your home. You can try an old ladder like this one in my bedroom. Use it to hang quilts like shown or even towels in a bathroom. There are a ton of options and it is a great way to add rustic wood in minutes.
On a smaller scale, you can look for vintage wood cheese boxes, crates, spools, wood baskets, and so much more.
Faking Rustic Wood
You can totally fake that rustic look as well. Turn something from around your home or even a thrift store into something that looks like it has been around for 100 years. You can find out how to do a rustic wood look technique on this post on making a Pottery Barn knock-off dough bowl.
So, use these ideas for adding some rustic wood touches to your own home. Hopefully, I have inspired you to add some texture to your own farmhouse style home.
