Let’s Talk Mason Jars
You are missing out if you have never crafted with a mason jar!
Mason jars are the perfect base for a handmade gift in a jar because they have a stronger seal, come in various sizes, and the top can be taken apart (which is great for crafting). I love mason jars for this reason and have made everything from Christmas gifts to kids’ crafts and more using these simple jars!

FAQs About Christmas Jar Ideas
Here are a few common questions that I often see readers asking about using mason jars in craft projects. If you have a question, please check if I’ve already addressed it below. If you don’t see your question listed, please leave it in the comments!
Where Do You Purchase Mason Jars?
You can purchase mason jars at your local grocery store, big box store, or online. Below are a few of my favorite types of mason jars.
What Size Jars Should I Use?
The great thing about these projects is that you can change the jar size to fit your needs, so I would say to pick your jar size based on what you are giving or how much you want to spend on each gift.
With that being said, the only time you might want to use a standard-size mason jar or bigger is if you are giving a food or drink-themed gift.
Should I Clean My Mason Jar Before I Craft With It?
Yes! Before you begin any mason jar craft, you should always wash the inside and outside. You may also want to wipe down the outside of the mason jar with rubbing alcohol to ensure your surface is completely clean and dust-free.
